Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC)

                                                                        The Southwest Autism Research & Resource Center (SARRC) is a nonprofit, community-based organization in Phoenix, Arizona, dedicated to research, education and resources for individuals with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and their families. SARRC undertakes self-directed research, serves as a satellite site for national and international projects, and provides up-to-date information, training and assistance to families and professionals about autism.

Talk About Curing Autism (TACA)     

Talk about Curing Autism (TACA) provides information, resources, and support to families affected by autism.  For families who have just received the autism diagnosis, TACA aims to speed up the cycle time from the autism diagnosis to effective treatments.  TACA helps to strengthen the autism community by connecting families and the professionals who can help them, allowing them to share stories and information to help people with autism be the best they can be.

AutismLink gathers information from different organizations into one place and lists autism resources in a state-by-state format.

 

 

 

Autism One

Autism One is a nonprofit organization started by a small group of parents of children with autism to address three areas:  education, advocacy, and fundraising.

 

Autism Teaching Materials                               

                                                                        Autism Inspiration is an on-line resource for parents and teachers of children with autism spectrum behaviors. This website is dedicated to providing a variety of resources including lesson plans, games, group activities, sensory integration ideas, forums, and other valuable tools and information to help teach children with Autism, Asperger Syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Delay (PDD), Sensory Integration Disorder, and other related behaviors.

 

Autism Research Institute (ARI)

                                                                        The Autism Research Institute (ARI) is a nonprofit organization established in 1967.

 

Doug Flutie Jr Foundation for Autism Inc.

                                                                        The Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation’s mission is to aid financially disadvantaged families who need assistance in caring for their children with autism; to fund education and research into the causes and consequences of childhood autism; and to serve as a clearinghouse and communications center for new programs and services developed for individuals with autism.

 

First Signs Inc.

                                                                        The mission of First Signs is to ensure the best developmental outcome for every child by promoting awareness regarding the most important and often overlooked aspects of development:  social, emotional, and communication.  Their goals are to improve screening and referral practices and to lower the age at which young children are identified with autism and other developmental disorders.

 

Yale Developmental Disabilities Clinic

                                                                        The Yale Developmental Disabilities Clinic offers comprehensive, multidisciplinary evaluations for children with social disabilities, usually focusing on the issues of diagnosis and intervention.  The clinic is headed by Fred Volkmar, M.D., and Ami Klin, Ph.D., two of the most respected experts in the field of autism, Asperger’s Syndrome (AS), and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDDs).

 

Special Needs Network

                                                                        Special Needs Network, Inc. (SNN) is a nonprofit, community-based organization founded to respond to the needs in the underserved segment of the special needs population, primarily as it relates to autism.  SNN’s mission is to raise public awareness of developmental disabilities and to impact public policy, while providing education and resources to families, children and adults.

 

Organization For Autism Research Inc.

                                                                        The Organization for Autism Research (OAR) was created in December 2001 – the product of the shared vision and unique life experiences of OAR’s seven founders.  Led by these parents and grandparents of children and adults on the autism spectrum, OAR set out to use applied science to answer questions that parents, families, individuals with autism, teachers and caregivers confront daily.

 

National Autism Association

                                                                        The mission of the National Autism Association is to educate and empower families affected by autism and other neurological disorders, while advocating on behalf of those who cannot fight for their own rights.

 

Easter Seals

                                                                        Easter Seals has been providing services and support to children and adults with disabilities, and to the families who love them, for more than 85 years, and today it is the country’s leading provider of services for people with autism. 

 

 

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)

                                                                        “Learn the Signs.  Act Early.” is a public awareness campaign launched by The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and its partners to increase the understanding of developmental milestones and the importance of acting early when a possible delay is noticed.  The earlier a child with a developmental delay receives appropriate assessment and intervention, the more likely the child is to reach full potential.

 

ACT Today!

                                                                        ACT Today! Is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization whose mission is to increase access to autism treatments, such as Applied Behavior Analysis, Therapeutic, and Biomedical programs.  Their goal is to introduce and help facilitate early and on-going treatment by providing the necessary resources including funding, guidance, referrals and follow up to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and their families.

 

Alliance of Genetic Support Groups                 

The Alliance of Genetic Support Groups is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping individuals who have genetic disorders and their families. 

 

National Council on Disability                          

The National Council on Disability (NCD) is an independent federal agency making recommendations to the President and Congress on issues affecting some 54 million Americans with disabilities.

 

National Information Center for Children and Youth with Disabilities

NICHCY is the national information and referral center that provides information on disabilities and disability-related issues for families, educators, and other professionals.
